What is MFA and Why is it Important?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an additional layer of security to your Zai Dashboard account. It ensures that even if someone has your password, they cannot access your account without a second verification step. This process uses an app on your mobile device to confirm your identity during login.

Step-by-Step Guide to Enable MFA

  1. Log in to the Zai Dashboard
    • Use your credentials to log in.
    • If this is your first login, log out and log back in to trigger the MFA setup prompt.
  2. Secure Your Account
    • You will see a page titled "Secure Your Account".
    • Click Enable Multi-Factor Authentication to proceed.
    • Alternatively, click Remind Me Later to delay setup for 7 days.
      • Note: You can bypass this delay by accessing the Zai Dashboard in an incognito browser, which will display the MFA notification again.
  3. Download an Authenticator App
To set up MFA, you will need an authenticator app on your mobile device. These apps generate a unique code for each login. We recommend the following:
  4. Link the App to Your Zai Dashboard
    • After clicking Enable Multi-Factor Authentication, you will see a page titled "Link Your App to the Zai Dashboard".
    • Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
    • If you cannot scan the QR code, click "Can't scan this code?" to generate a manual code. Enter this code into your authenticator app.
  5. Complete the Setup
    • Once the app is linked, it will generate a unique code for your Zai Dashboard.
    • Use this code to log in to your account.
    • Your account is now secured with MFA.

Note: MFA cannot be enabled on shared accounts. Each individual requires their own user account. This not only enables MFA setup but also strengthens your company’s overall security. For assistance with creating additional team member accounts, please contact support@zaipayments.com.
